Tula Pink Charm Swap ~ Quilt Along

Towards the end of last year I participated in the Tula Pink Charm Swap run by the fabulous Ms Midge.
OMG!!! They are so pretty!
After each Charm Swap there is a Charm Along!
And here is my contribution :IMG_8088 (2)It’s only the top right now, but I have a backing in the works and will keep going til it’s done – I’m determined not to add it to my UFO pile πŸ˜‰
It is 49″ x 74″ { 125cm x 188cm}
It would make a gorgeous single bed quilt but since I don’t have a single bed to use it on, {except the boys and they won’t part with their Batman quilts for a girly one! haha} I think it’ll make a nice sized throw or couch quilt for meeeee!.

I am also pledging to get cracking on the aforementioned UFO pile! There are a couple of half {or more} done pieces, so I am going to keep plodding along and get some finished soon πŸ™‚

I’ll endeavour to get my holiday pics up soon – we had a fantastic time staying at Manly Beach, Sydney!! And hubby was very surprised πŸ™‚
Hope you have a fantabulous day!

  1. Gorgeous quilt top! And my birthday was yesterday! Happy birthday, glad to see you back. I’ll be down in Manly myself for a couple of days around 9-11 February, so I’ll send it your love…

    • Thank you!
      Awww Happy Birthday for yesterday!! Hope you had a fab day ❀
      My co-worker's birthday was yesterday too, and we are same year too so almost twins! {If you turned 41 too we can be almost triplets! haha}
      Manly was spoectacular! I would go back in a heartbeat! Enjoy your trip! πŸ™‚

  2. Hello Kate, I am very new to quilting and just LOVE this pattern and colors. I was wondering if you have any info on the fabrics you used? The way they flow into one another is wonderful, I would love to put this on my to do list. I also knit and make stained glass and I have UFO piles for both of them. I hope one day to have one for my quilting. Ha ha Thanks for your time, Diana

    • Hi Diana!
      Thanks for your kind words! Welcome to the addictive world of quilting haha
      These fabrics are from all of Tula Pink’s fabric lines. {I took part in a Charm Swap where 56 of us sent in 2 different meters of Tula Pink fabrics cut into 5″ squares and the organizer, Ms Midge sent us all 112 different charm squares back} I just made them into HSTs and played round with them til I was happy with the flow πŸ™‚
      You could acheive a similar mix of her fabrics by getting charm packs from her different lines … Good luck, hope you have fun with your new hobby!

  3. Hiya! πŸ™‚
    I don’t know of any Tula swaps in the US, I’m in Australia, as is Ms Midge who organised the one I was in. Perhaps ask around on some US quilting blogs? Or if you are part of a few quilting groups you could even organise a swap between you or ask around for interest on the group pages/blogs?
    Good luck!! πŸ™‚

  4. Congrats on being featured over on Instagram (@southernfabric). Gorgeous quilt! Just wondering what fabric the background grey is? Thanks. x

    • Hi Erin, I still use this solid, but it doesn’t have a selvedge so I will look for an old docket to find the name and get back to you ☺️ Kate xo
