The world lost one of it’s very best shining stars today. I know I’m not breaking news here. Unless you’re Amish, there’s not much chance you could have missed it. I haven’t been this devastated over the death of someone I have never met since I can’t remember when.
These are just a couple of my favourite of his many movie triumphs:
I watched Patch Adams just last weekend. And yesterday I taped Aladdin for the kids to watch this weekend. He will remain one of my favourite actor/comedians.
I first saw it a couple of years ago, but this quote is something that will stick with me forever, it’s so profound in its simplicity :
It speaks right to my heart and soul. I often say a person can be all alone, even in the largest of crowds.
I think it is a little peephole into the sadness you could sometimes see in his gorgeous, mischievous, twinkling eyes.
Depression is a dangerous, insidious darkness that does not discriminate. Even the most {outwardly} bright, happy, funny people can be overcome. I won’t pretend to know how it feels, I am one of the lucky ones. And I think those dealing with depression day in, day out are so brave and strong. It must be so very, very hard.
I wish that we who love them could share some of the burden.
I wish with all of my heart that they would reach out. And that a helping hand is there to grasp.
