Friday Ramblings …

Yay!! It’s Friday!

While I remember the glee Friday brings for most people, it doesn’t hold the same allure for me cos I only work outside the home on weekends … So tomorrow is my Monday. And I am a little bummed about that! haha

Nah, it’s all good, I like my job for the most part 🙂

My beautiful friend The Divine Ms S. and I went to the movies today! A rare treat, especially thru the week! We even had a coffee before hand and lunch after!

We watched “Aloha” starring Bradley Cooper, Emma Stone, and Rachel McAdams.

We were both really looking forward to seeing this chick flick, and I have to say we were both a little confused coming out. It was … weird. They didn’t do a good job of explaining some of the storyline and when a few things happened they were kinda out of the blue. Rachel McAdams seemed a little … disinterested and flat. Emma Stone was ok. Bill Murray and Alec Baldwin were in it and they couldn’t save it either.

To be honest, the best part of the movie for me was Bradley Cooper because

…well, because he’s a hottie! haha I think he is getting better looking as he gets older.
I could just about fall into those baby blues!

I’d probably not buy it or even watch it again. I’d give it 2 stars

Barking Dogs.
Is there anything worse from a neighbour’s point of view than a dog that will.not.stop.barking??? I have 3 yappers behind us that are only just getting controlled by their owners in the last week. Now they have new neighbours who have a large dog that just won’t shut up! *arghhh* It never stops.
It’s barking as I type this. Loudly. At 9pm at night 😦
I wish we lived on a large block with no near neighbours! {Tho we do have some lovely neighbours beside and across from us who I’d miss haha}

My big man is going for his very first sleep over tomorrow! I feel a little sick if I’m being truthful.
I’m sure he will be fine, but this is the first time he’s ever spent a night away from me except if he’s been just with hubby or at his Grandma’s … It’s a big step for a kid {and a Mum! 😉 }

I am going to work hard and get a finish done to share on Monday – I have a poor little lonely UFO that’s been almost done for a couple of weeks. This LONG weekend is all about UFOs! Have a great weekend!

“But it’s a talking DOG!”

Watched ‘Up” last night for the first time!

Why have I never seen it before? It’s a delightful little movie! I wish we had talking dogs!
I love the Doberman’s chipmunk voice haha … I also love how there are bits in all the kids movies these days for adults to laugh at {for different reasons than the kids are laughing 😉 }

I am almost done watching Breaking Bad!

It ran for 5 seasons and I never watched even a second of it. Then I saw a snippet one day and wondered why I had never jumped on the bandwagon. Literally the next day I saw that Foxtel was re-running it daily from the very beginning! So I set my timer and have been watching it since. There are 3 episodes left. Waaahhh!

I was on Walter’s side for the first couple of seasons but then he just started to piss me off with his narcissistic, psychopathic arrogance! The main 2 actors both play fantastic roles, but Jesse is the more sympathetic character in my opinion. He has a heart and some kind of conscience. Walt – not so much! It was a fab cast tho and I have really enjoyed it! Not my usual viewing at all.

I kinda seem to either be the first to see or read something or the dead last! haha I have only in the last couple of months started watching Game of Thrones as well! Again, not my usual viewing but I am persevering as everyone raves over it. {Foxtel has it on mid-season break}

Everyone lusts after Jon Snow but I prefer his daddy 😉

Anyhooo … I have much to do today, so will catch you next time!

Exciting Project and School Holidays Are Over!

I know my monsters have already had a pretty eventful school holidays, but I took them to see RIO2 at the movies the other day. The kids liked RIO but fell in love with it all over again on the ship … where they watched it heaps! a couple of times. We went with our friends up the road, also a mum and 2 boys.

It was pretty good. I give it 3.5/5. I have to say, some of my favourite movies of all time are cartoons!
Finding Nemo would be in my top 5. Forrest Gump and Dirty Dancing would also make my top 5. But I would have to be super selective in choosing the other 2 😉
What are your favourite movies?

Actually, Saturday night I stayed up til nearly 3am watching an old favourite – Up Close and Personal.
Michelle Pfeiffer. Robert Redford. *sigh*

While I was watching Robert Redford the movie I was cutting white charm squares to use with my
Aussie Kate Spain Charm Swap!
I played a double hand in the stash so ended up with 224 charms 😀
Since the quilt I have planned uses HST I had to then cut 224 white charms.
And then rule all of them in half and match it with the others.
Which means I’ll end up with 448 HST eeek! 😀

….. hmmm hope I have enough haha!!

I would have been further along except we took the Mad Mutt to the beach for his first visit. {I’ve made a bit more progress since I took this pic tho …} He absolutely loved it!!! Here’s the big goofball overgrown puppy smile :

It was also his first trip in a ute {Hubby’s new work truck} and he’s such a clutzy non-dog! – he dragged his chin on the road as he was jumping out. Small graze. Big bleed. I wore some of it on my shirt. Ugh!

School is back this week – yaaayy Gee I’ll miss them 😉 I have a couple of full days so I am looking forward to ‘alone’ errands.
Hope to be back in a couple of days with some progress pics from my big project!
Have a great week 🙂
